Nami Lantern takes inspiration from The Japanese Zen Gardens which are places of meditation. These soothing gardens are composed mostly by sand and rocks. The raked sand recalls the movement of water while the rocks imitate islands and land masses. The delicate pattern of the sand inspired me and I wanted to recreate its waves on a glass lantern to reproduce the effect of light refraction through water.
